Fall Flower Wall Pocket And Other Touches Of Fall

Fall Flowers Wall Pocket

I have added a few touches of fall in my dining room.  Here on the wall I have a white frame and a wall pocket that I have filled with fake flowers from the dollar store.  Yep, that’s dollar store flowers.  The wall pocket came from a thrift store about a year or so ago and the frame I’ve had for years that someone else trashed and I decided to take it. I like the flowers inside the frame and the three dimensional aspect of it.

Over on my hutch, I have some leaves and some spraypainted foam pumpkins (again from the dollar store) mixed in with some silver pieces (thrifted except for the teapot I inherited) and some wooden blocks and pumpkins (I made the blocks and my mother made the pumpkins).

I hung a rag garland up above that I made from some old fabric scraps last year.

On my side table, I have a pitcher (thrifted) with more dollar store flowers and an old brass candlestick (thrifted), now painted white, with a dollar store bird perched on top.

Fall Leave & Flowers

A finial type thingy from Hobby Lobby and this maple sugar scented candle that smells like heaven!  I have this thrift store tiered tray, also painted white, covered in leaves and leaves scattered all over the tabletop.  On the other side of it is a little ceramic container and some more candles.

Pumpkins

On the dining table itself, just a group of beaded pumpkins (from Walmart last year) on a little ceramic stand.  Yes, I thrifted that too.

Dining Room (Fall)

Everything in here has been given to me, came from a thrift store, dollar store, or Wal-Mart.  I am so cheap!  The dining room table was given to me years ago and is badly in need of sanding down and refinishing.

The side table came from my mother and the drapes came from the Salvation Army.

The china cabinet I inherited from my grandfather when he passed away.  The china inside was given to me.   I have thought often of repainting the side table, dining table and chairs, and the china cabinet a cream color but so far have not had the guts or time to take it on.  Maybe one day!
