Spray Painted Orange Lamp

This past week has been a blur!  Hopefully, this week will be a little calmer.  I’ve had so much going on at once and haven’t really had the time to share any projects with you but I wanna take a second to show you my new living room lamp:

Ain't she purty?

I got this ginger jar lamp from Goodwill for $4.  I could’ve gotten a pair of them but only have room for one right now.

If you have been following along, you already know that I have developed a crush on the color orange!  I love how it pops and gives a modern yet vintage vibe.  It adds lots of energy and warmth and just looks cool.  So, I grabbed some white primer and some pumpkin orange Krylon spray paint and went to town on that lamp.

I was worried that some of the scratches and marks would show through but the good ole spray paint just covered it all up.  To keep with the modern yet vintage vibe, I topped it off with a drum shade.  I really think the shade makes it look perfect!  The shade cost $14 at Walmart.  The entire project was just a bit over twenty bucks and I think it looks as good as similar lamps that sell for over $50.

I ordered some fabric to make some drapes and this lamp will set them off so well!  Here is a sneak peek of the fabric:

Awesome, right?  Can’t wait to get the entire room pulled together.  I hope to change out my throw pillows, add some new wall art (maybe a sunburst mirror) and a faux fur throw.  I also want to add a rug but not sure what kind right now.  That will probably come last.

I feel like that all over the house, really.  I guess it’s never completed.  Kind of like the Winchester Mystery House.  Only not creepy.

PS.  I just wanted to let you know that the place I ordered my fabric from, Warehouse Fabrics, is hosting a $50 gift certificate giveaway!  You just might win some free fabric!
