Crepe Paper Rose Garland

IMG_0939

After making my crepe paper rose topiary, I just wanted to make more so I decided to make a garland to go over my bed.  I had some white streamers but I didn’t want them to be too stark white, so I lightly tea stained them.  I simply cut my streamers into strips about 2 feet long and dabbed them with tea bags using a pouncing motion.  I didn’t want to make them totally tea- stained, just a little, to add a little contrast in the petals and give it just a little of an aged, vintage feel.

After my streamers were dry, I used the same technique as before and this time, I hot glued them to a strip of white tulle.  I bought this crown a while back from Hobby Lobby.  It was originally $19.99 and I used a 40% off coupon.  It reminded me of the crowns I have seen in the Ballard Designs catalog.

I  draped the garland over the sides of the crown and tied the ends to the bedposts.

I like the romantic look it gives my bed.
