My life certainly has its seasons…
I have honestly just abandoned this blog for the past six months. It’s not that I haven’t been doing anything creative or worth sharing, I have just been so distracted. Life has been busy and ever-changing and I just didn’t feel like trying to squeeze my blog into the chaos.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE sharing my ideas or something I did with the kids and getting tons of feedback and compliments on it (who wouldn’t ?) But, blogging is a lot of work, especially if you blog regularly. Especially if you host a link party or any other regularly occurring event. Blogging is not for everybody. Lots of people start blogs and give up on them in a few weeks or months. There is usually no money to be made from blogging. There is a lot of skill involved in creating something, taking clear, crisp photos, writing about it and putting it all together, sharing it in a blog post and promoting it in the hopes that it receives any recognition. I repeat, a lot of skill. Some people, I’m sure you have seen, may be very skilled at making crafts then unable to capture it well in a photo or not very descriptive when writing about it. Or maybe they can do all of that but are clueless about setting up their blog page properly. I haven’t even mentioned the TIME it takes to accomplish this. Most craft bloggers are also busy moms. There are only 24 hours in a day. You do the math.
That being said, I am still coming back to blogging. I still have ideas to share. I still have something to say. I also realize how far I have came since I first started blogging and it would really be a shame to give it up. I have grown and learned so much. I can’t just let it go.
So, now I am ready to give this blog a new beginning. Head in a new direction, maybe even a new name. I am excited to get started! Stay tuned to see what comes next!
It seems that so many bloggers have had to take a break, glad your are back.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you. I totally get it...I feel as if I'm lucky if I'm on here once a month now.
