Gimme Five For Friday (Olympics Ideas)

Today is the kick off of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.  Here are five fun ideas to get your kids excited for the events.

1. Olympics Rings Painted Shirts.

Kate of  Kate’s Creative Space  shows how  to make these shirts as well as some other fantastic Olympics crafts.

2.  Olympic Rings Fruit Pizza

You can find the recipe over at Taste of Home.

3.  Olympic Drinks

OK, no cocktails for the kids but just think how cute this would be in a glass of Sprite !  Just add lifesavers candies!

4.   Olympic Torches

Crafty Mom 101 and her kids made these cool torches with yogurt cups and toilet paper rolls!

5.  Olympic Laurel Wreath Crown

Preschool Crafts For Kids gives instructions for making this traditional crown like the ones worn by ancient Olympic athletes.

There you have it!  Five fun things for kids to do just in time for the Olympics!  Have them make these and then head outside for some games of your own.    That’s my list of five this week.  Now it’s your turn to Gimme Five For Friday!

Also, it seems that the idea behind Gimme Five For Friday is confusing or may not be feasible for you to link up a list of five things. So…….would it be better to have a new theme each week (that I reveal a week ahead) and you link a post related to that theme?  I want to know what YOU think!  Just leave a comment and let me know!
