Today, I want to share with you how I can keep my home dust free and spend the least amount of time possible doing it. I speed dust. What is speed dusting, you ask?
I put a sock on my hand and go around and quickly wipe away any dust from surfaces (shelves, tabletops, whatever). It’s quick and easy.
If you want to dust and polish, add a little baby oil (you can also use lemon or olive oil) to your sock. The dust sticks to the sock and the oil moisturizes wood and leaves it with a nice shine. Of course, if you put too much it will be greasy and you will have to wipe away any excess but you will quickly figure out how much is too much. This method also works great on baseboards, ceiling fan blades, kitchen cabinets, picture frames, etc.
You can even get your kids in on the action. Tell them to go put an old sock on their hand and squirt a little baby oil on it and have them go wipe down all the surfaces they can (just not the walls!) . While they are racing each other to wipe down the most places, your house will be getting super clean! Nothing wrong with that, is there?
